Samsung brought an absolute beast of a 130-inch Micro RGB TV to CES 2026

Engadget

It's only a concept, though, so your wallet is safe. Amid endless AI hype and a guest visit from the CEO of Hartford Steam Boiler (?!), Samsung had a big surprise for us tonight at CES 2026: A massive 130-inch Micro RGB TV. It's so large, it's suspended by a large metal stand that surrounds the entire screen, which also lets you tilt the screen just a bit. I imagine bringing this TV home would be like Bart Simpson adopting his beloved elephant Stampy: Your pets would be terrified, and your family would probably be annoyed at this television dominating so much of your home. But boy, it sure looks amazing in person. Just like LG's Micro RGB set, it's using an evolved form of Mini LED technology that allows for far better color accuracy and richness.

LG TVs at CES 2026: A stunning Wallpaper set, glorious Micro RGB colors and a better Gallery TV

Engadget

And yes, there are more traditional OLED TVs too. LG usually announces its CES TV lineup well ahead of the show, but this year the company had a surprise at CES 2026: The return of its ultra-thin Wallpaper TV . We got a chance to check out the Wallpaper TV in action during a CES preview event, as well as the previously announced Gallery and Micro RGB sets. LG still has its typically OLED and LED sets around, but it's clear that 2026 will be filled with intriguing TVs for a variety of consumers. If money were no object, I'd want a 100-inch LG Wallpaper TV in my family room immediately. It looks shockingly thin in person -- almost as if it's some sort of sci-fi prop -- and it delivers the rich colors and dark levels we expect from OLED.

How to watch the NVIDIA CES 2026 presentation live

Engadget

NVIDIA is showcasing robotics, simulation, gaming and more at CES 2026. Last year during CES 2025, NVIDIA spent most of the time during its keynote touting its leading position in artificial intelligence. It threw in a few hardware announcements, including its RTX 5000-series GPUs and Project Digits desktop supercomputer (later redubbed Spark). For CES 2026, the company promises to light up the show with the power of AI. It seems NVIDIA will be going big in Las Vegas this year, with hands-on demos in its Fontainebleau booth, replete with the latest NVIDIA solutions driving innovation and productivity across industries.

His speech will also be livestreamed for free, so you can watch it on NVIDIA's website too. And for those of you who want it saved to your YouTube watch history, here's the company's livestream on YouTube as well.

An appreciation of the PlayStation Vita on its 10th birthday

Engadget

A decade ago today saw the Japanese release of Sony's last dedicated gaming handheld, the PlayStation Vita. It wasn't quite as popular as its predecessor the PlayStation Portable (or its main rival the Nintendo 3DS), and Sony is still trying to bring its gaming experience to mobile, but the Vita still holds a special place in the hearts of those who owned one. At Engadget, that's Nathan Ingraham and Devindra Hardawar, who have both extolled the virtues of the system in our internal Slack many times over the years (yes, I checked). So on the Vita's 10th birthday we've asked our resident experts what their favorite games for the system were, and inspired them to dig the shiny little handheld out of their closets for another go-around. The freedom of Gravity Rush's acrobatic gameplay, which lets you fall through the air in every direction, as well as walk along the sides and bottoms of buildings, went hand-in-hand with the Vita's portability.

ICYMI: The new Apple TV 4K gets a significantly better Siri remote

Engadget

The last couple of weeks brought new gadgets from Apple, Google and others. We got to work testing the new Apple TV 4K, which Devindra Hardawar says is much better than the previous model based on the remote alone. Billy Steele listened to the new Pixel Buds A-Series, which are just as comfortable as last year's version and cost $80 less. Devindra also tested the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti, which provided him with some excellent ray tracing performance but will probably be difficult to get your hands on. And Mat Smith cleaned his apartment with the high-end Dyson V15, which uses lasers to help get your floors spotless.

ICYMI: We test drive Volkswagen's ID.4 EV crossover

Engadget

This week our reviews cross several categories: first up, Andrew Tarantola drove the VW ID.4 EV around the Bay Area to see how Volkswagen fared with a compact SUV. Meanwhile, Nicole Lee found a lot to like about Mila's smart air purifier, which has several themed filters and modes that can be customized. Billy Steele listened to Bose's new Sport Open Earbuds, which are designed to sit just outside the ear to allow for better awareness of one's surroundings. And in a quest for better home security, Devindra Hardawar installed Arlo's Video Doorbell and Pro 3 cameras around his home to check out what the system could do. Nicole also considered several smart lights and clocks to see which deserves a spot on your nightstand, and I tested four smart white noise makers designed to be used in a nursery. After driving the VW ID.4 EV, Andrew Tarantola concluded that it's a solid first attempt at a practical electric car from the German automaker.

The Morning After: PS5 price, release date and pre-order info revealed

Engadget

Last week, it was Xbox's turn, and now we have a price for the new PlayStation. Sony has set a $400/$500 split for the Digital Edition vs. standard PS5, charging $100 extra for the privilege of a disc drive for physical media. If you need a reason to splash for the disc version, look no further than the new $70 benchmark for many new titles -- disc games might be a little easier to find used or on sale. Retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and GameStop started taking pre-orders shortly after Sony's event ended, but if you missed out on the first wave, keep checking back -- a few people have reported success hours after they supposedly sold out. Assuming you can secure a day-one purchase, you can expect it to see it November 12th in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, before the PS5 launches everywhere else on November 19th.
